Return-to-sport testing in Hamburg

What this is

With test batteries we developed ourselves, we check strength, jump performance, landing control, changes of direction and differences between sides under real load. That shows objectively how much load your body can already take.

Who it is for

For anyone who wants to get back to their sport after injury or surgery: after a cruciate ligament tear, a meniscus or ankle injury, a muscle injury or shoulder surgery.

You can take the test with us even if your rehab happened elsewhere.

And for anyone who wants to know where they really stand before a new season.

How it works

Beforehand we go through the injury, any surgery and your rehab so far, and choose the tests that fit your sport. A footballer needs different changes of direction from a tennis player.

The testing itself usually takes one extended session. We capture strength and jumps with force and jump measurement, and analyse landings and changes of direction on video.

Afterwards we go through the values with you and give a clear recommendation: back to competition, or what is still missing before then.

Numbers, not a feeling

Being pain-free in daily life says nothing yet about how much load your body can take in sport.

After an injury the affected side often stays measurably weaker without you feeling it, and that difference is what raises the risk of another setback. The test battery makes it visible.

And because we repeat the same tests, progress can be tracked precisely until you return.

Questions about this service

Frequently asked

When is the right time for the test?

When you can run and jump without pain and the return to team training or competition is coming up. After cruciate ligament surgery that is usually several months after the operation at the earliest. An earlier interim test often makes sense too, so you know what you still need to work on.

Who does the testing, and how long does it take?

Testing is carried out by a therapist from our team and usually takes one extended session. Afterwards we go through the values with you and give a clear recommendation.

And if the values aren't there yet?

Then we say so, and we also say what is behind it and how much longer it is likely to take. An honest answer at this point is worth more than a quick clearance.

Can my surgeon, doctor or coach see the results?

Yes, if you would like. We go through the results with you first and, on request, coordinate directly with your surgeon, your doctor or your coaching team.
