Shockwave therapy in Hamburg
What this is
In shockwave therapy, mechanical pressure waves are directed precisely into the tissue. It is used above all for stubborn tendon complaints and calcifications, usually over several sessions and always in combination with treatment and rebuilding, never as a stand-alone measure.

Where it is used
Focused, not diffuse
We work with focused shockwave. It concentrates the energy on a precisely defined point at depth, which means we can work where the examination actually found something.

Frequently asked
Does it hurt?
The treatment is clearly noticeable and briefly uncomfortable on sensitive spots, but easy to tolerate. The intensity is adjusted as we go. A session takes only a few minutes.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on the findings. Three to five sessions about a week apart is typical. After the first two we look together at how you are responding and adjust the plan.
When should it not be used?
Among other things with clotting disorders, on blood-thinning medication, with acute infections in the treatment area and during pregnancy. We ask about these before the first session.

Shoulder clinic in Hamburg
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body and is guided almost entirely by muscle. That makes it capable and sensitive at the same time. Anyone who works overhead or plays overhead sport notices first.
→ServiceSports physiotherapy
Sports physiotherapy treats people who want to get back on the court or the pitch, not just through daily life without pain. The difference lies in what the result has to deliver: resilience under fatigue, at speed and through changes of direction. That is exactly what we work on.
→TennisTennis elbow needs more than rest.
Tennis elbow is usually a load problem of the tendons on the outside of the elbow. What matters is why the load has outgrown what the tissue can currently take. That is where we start.

Physical and device-based methods are a targeted complement to our therapy. They include therapeutic ultrasound, electrotherapy, and cold and heat applications, matched to the findings, the tissue and the stage of treatment.
