Shoulder clinic in Hamburg
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body and is guided almost entirely by muscle. That makes it capable and sensitive at the same time. Anyone who works overhead or plays overhead sport notices first.
How it works
Examination of the shoulder in the context of the thoracic spine, shoulder blade and neck. Function tests, assessment of muscle control, interpretation of existing findings.
Then treatment, and a rebuild that starts at the shoulder blade, not at the joint.
Acute clinic
Can't lie on your shoulder at night? Write to us.
A locked back, a stiff neck, a twisted ankle or a fresh sports injury: register or send us an enquiry. We also treat outside regular hours, and urgent enquiries are handled at the weekend too.
Questions about this clinic
Frequently asked
I can't lie on my shoulder at night. Is that serious?
Night pain is a common sign of rotator cuff irritation and should be examined, it is not automatically serious, but it rarely goes away on its own. The earlier the rebuild begins, the shorter the course usually is.
What does my thoracic spine have to do with my shoulder?
A great deal. To lift the arm overhead, the thoracic spine has to extend and the shoulder blade has to rotate with it. If that mobility is missing, the shoulder joint works at its limit. That is why, with shoulder complaints, we almost always treat the back too.
Does shockwave help with calcific shoulder?
For calcifications of the rotator cuff, shockwave therapy is an established complementary method. Whether it makes sense in your case depends on the position and nature of the calcification and on your symptoms, we clarify that in the examination.

What usually goes with it
Manual therapy and manual medicine
Manual therapy examines and treats dysfunction of the joints and the spine. With mobilisation, targeted handling and, where indicated, brief impulse techniques. The familiar click is a side effect, not the goal.
→ServiceAthletic training
Athletic training makes you more resilient, faster and more resistant to injury. It is built around the movement patterns of your sport, not around a machine, and it starts with an assessment, not an off-the-shelf plan.
→TennisHamburg's tennis practice
Yannick Lambrecht has worked as a physiotherapist on the ATP Tour since 2014. That work has grown into a focus of its own: tennis screening, injury prevention, shoulder and elbow rehabilitation, athletic training and the return to competition. For tournament players and for Saturday mornings at the club alike.
→ServicePost-operative rehabilitation
After an operation, the aftercare decides the outcome at least as much as the procedure itself. We accompany you on that path from the first appointment after discharge to the point where you can fully load your leg or your shoulder again.
→ServiceFunctional Assessment
A structured examination of your body for stability, mobility and flexibility, not at a single joint, but across the whole movement chain. We see which areas are doing work that really belongs elsewhere. That is exactly where overload develops, often long before it hurts.
→ServiceReturn-to-sport testing
With test batteries we developed ourselves, we check strength, jump performance, landing control, changes of direction and differences between sides under real load. That shows objectively how much load your body can already take.
→ServiceSports rehabilitation
Sports rehabilitation guides the way back after an injury that does not need surgery. What matters is not only that the tissue heals, but that mobility, strength, control and load capacity are deliberately rebuilt. That is the basis for a safe return to training and sport.
→ServiceMobility and assisted stretching
Our own assisted stretching concept brings together mobility, suppleness and recovery. Precisely guided stretches work on range of motion and tissue tension, and support recovery.
→The team
All our therapists treat the full spectrum, physiotherapy, manual therapy, rehabilitation and medical training. So you can rely on being in good hands with every one of them.
