Athletic training in Hamburg
What this is
Athletic training makes you more resilient, faster and more resistant to injury. It is built around the movement patterns of your sport, not around a machine, and it starts with an assessment, not an off-the-shelf plan.

Frequently asked
Which sports?
Tennis is our strongest focus. Alongside that we work with football and team sports, rowing, hockey, athletics and endurance sport. The fundamentals are similar; the details differ considerably.
Will athletic training make me slower or less mobile?
No, if it is built up properly. Well-planned strength training tends to improve explosiveness and mobility rather than restrict them, provided mobility is trained from the start.
How often per week?
One or two supervised sessions is a good framework, supplemented by what you train anyway. During the season we reduce, in preparation we increase.

What patients often look for here as well
Hamburg's tennis practice
Yannick Lambrecht has worked as a physiotherapist on the ATP Tour since 2014. That work has grown into a focus of its own: tennis screening, injury prevention, shoulder and elbow rehabilitation, athletic training and the return to competition. For tournament players and for Saturday mornings at the club alike.
→ServiceReturn to Sport and Return to Performance
The stretch between "it doesn't hurt any more" and "it holds up in competition". It is the part most often skipped, and the reason many injuries come back. We close it with measurable criteria, not a gut feeling.
→ServiceMedical training
Training based on findings. You do not train to a standard plan but to what the examination showed, and always supervised by someone who knows why this exercise is the right one right now.
→ServiceSports physiotherapy
Sports physiotherapy treats people who want to get back on the court or the pitch, not just through daily life without pain. The difference lies in what the result has to deliver: resilience under fatigue, at speed and through changes of direction. That is exactly what we work on.
→TeamLeon Knoche
Modern, active physiotherapy with an eye on movement, load capacity and rehabilitation that lasts. He trained at the European School of Physiotherapy in Amsterdam.
→TeamNisse Thüne
Looks after the youth squads at FC St. Pauli and is taking his master's in sports physiotherapy in Cologne.
