Sports osteopathy in Hamburg
What this is
Sports osteopathy combines a precise osteopathic examination with a thorough understanding of movement, load and athletic performance. The point is not only to treat a single complaint but to find the connections across the whole movement system. In sport, what matters is how well the body takes load, compensates for it and recovers from it. That is where sports osteopathy comes in.

What it helps with
How it works
We do not only examine you on the treatment table but in the movement your sport asks of you: the serve, the sprint, the landing.
That shows us where rotation is missing, which region is compensating and where the next overload is building. Treatment is done with the hands, using parietal, myofascial and, where indicated, visceral techniques.
Then it goes straight into training, so that your body uses its new mobility under load.
Through the season
How we treat depends on where you are in your season.
In preparation there is room for deeper work and real change. Close to a competition we treat precisely and gently, so that you go in feeling fresh rather than worked. After an intense phase, recovery comes first.
It is the logic of the ATP Tour, where Yannick Lambrecht has looked after players between tournaments since 2014.

Frequently asked
How is this different from osteopathy?
The techniques are the same; the yardstick is different. In sports osteopathy the result is not judged by whether daily life is pain-free, but by whether your body holds up to your sport: at speed, under fatigue and through changes of direction. So we examine sport-specifically and plan treatment around your training and your season.
Do I have to be a competitive athlete?
No. Most of our sports patients train recreationally or in a club. What counts is your goal: if you want to get back to your sport, or hold up better in it, sports osteopathy is the right route.
Can I be treated just before a competition?
Yes, with the treatment adjusted. Before a competition we work precisely and gently, and save deeper work for preparation or the time afterwards. Get in touch early and we will plan the appointments around your competition calendar.
Will my health insurer pay for sports osteopathy?
There is no contract between us and your insurer, so the invoice comes directly to you. Many statutory funds do, however, contribute voluntarily towards osteopathic treatment, and we meet the professional requirements they set. How much they contribute, and for how many sessions a year, differs from fund to fund. One point decides it: most funds require a doctor's recommendation, and it has to be issued before the first treatment. So ask your fund first what applies to you, and get that confirmation before you come to us. Then you are set. Private insurers and Beihilfe, the German civil-servant health subsidy scheme, reimburse to differing degrees depending on your tariff. Either way you receive an invoice from us that you can submit.

What patients often look for here as well
Osteopathy
Osteopathy treats the body as one connected system. Instead of treating only the painful spot, it looks for restrictions in movement that cause complaints elsewhere. Examination and treatment are done exclusively with the hands.
→ServiceSports physiotherapy
Sports physiotherapy treats people who want to get back on the court or the pitch, not just through daily life without pain. The difference lies in what the result has to deliver: resilience under fatigue, at speed and through changes of direction. That is exactly what we work on.
→ServiceReturn to Sport
The stretch between "it doesn't hurt any more" and "it holds up in competition". It is the part most often skipped, and the reason many injuries come back. We close it with measurable criteria, not a gut feeling.
→TennisTennis
Yannick Lambrecht has worked as a physiotherapist on the ATP Tour since 2014. That work has grown into a focus of its own: tennis screening, injury prevention, shoulder and elbow rehabilitation, athletic training and the return to competition. For tournament players and for Saturday mornings at the club alike.
